Vision
The body follows the eyes, so it is important to consider what someone looks at while at the computer workstation to determine the optimal location of items.
Some helpful considerations:
- Determine what the person looks at frequently: documents, keyboard, etc...
- Non-touch typists may need monitor and keyboard to be closer together
- Wearing bifocals, trifocals, or progressive lenses may impact the neck position
Looking upward/bending the neck backward can cause significant discomfort
- A lower monitor position or a change to single-vision 'computer glasses' may be needed
